The UK ETA app allows individuals to submit an application for an electronic travel authorization (ETA) to visit the United Kingdom.

Who can use the app:

• Determine eligibility criteria at: https://www.gov.uk/electronic-travel-authorisation. Application on behalf of another individual is permissible if they are present.
• If applying on behalf of someone who is not present, the application must be completed online at: https://www.gov.uk/electronic-travel-authorisation.

How it works:

1. Photograph your passport.
2. If your passport contains a chip and your phone supports contactless payments, access the chip using your phone.
3. Capture a facial scan using your phone's camera.
4. Take a photo of the applicant.
5. Provide personal information as required.
6. Submit the application fee.

Before you begin:

• Ensure you are in a well-lit environment for high-quality photo capture.
• Essential items include your travel passport (not a copy), a credit card, debit card, or Apple Pay, and access to your email account.
• Photographs needed include those of the passport and the applicant's face.

What to expect:

• A decision is typically received within 3 business days, with potential for expedited processing. In some cases, processing times may exceed 3 days. The issued ETA will be linked to the applied passport, which must be used for travel to the UK.

Device Requirements:

• An iPhone 7 or newer model with iOS 15 or above is necessary for application submission.
